Eyes up, not down. You should never need to look at the ball to dribble it. On every part of this drill, practice keeping your head and eyes at chest height. If you have to look, slow down until you don’t.
Hold the ball at waist height. Slap it rapidly hand-to-hand as fast as possible. Hear the pop of each slap. The goal is hand speed and grip strength. Eyes stay up β don’t watch the ball.
Hold ball at chest. Tap it back and forth between fingertips only β no palms. The dribble is controlled by fingertips, not palms. This part trains the correct contact point. Eyes up throughout.
Knees bent, hips down. Dribble hard with one hand β the ball must bounce back up quickly. 20 pounds per hand, then switch. The harder you push down, the more control you have. Never let the ball rise above your waist.
Dribble right hand, cross to left hand. Ball must stay low β skim the floor, not the hip. Start slow until the crossover is clean and quiet. Build speed only when the exchange is consistent. Count to 20 and switch direction. Eyes up the whole time.
30 seconds of pound dribble with your non-dominant hand only. No switching. This is the hardest part β it should feel uncomfortable. That discomfort is development. Count how many times you lose control and record it in your Dropbox note.

D01_[DrillName].mp4Stand 4 ft from wall. Place a piece of tape at eye level β this is your target mark. Shooting-side foot slightly forward. Guide hand hangs to the side β shooting hand only today. Say aloud before starting: “Legs. Arm. Snap.” β you’ll use this cue on every rep of Parts 4β6.
Hold ball at forehead in shooting hand. Flick only the wrist and fingers β arm does not move. Wrist only. Ball should travel toward the mark and return with backspin. If the arm moves at all, slow down and restart. Backspin = correct wrist motion.
Ball at 90Β° elbow. Extend arm straight up toward the wall mark. No wrist snap yet β just feel the arm track straight and the elbow travel directly above the eyebrow. The path from 90Β° to full extension should be a straight vertical line toward the target.
Extend arm, then snap wrist at the top. Hold follow-through 3 full seconds β fingers pointing down, “hand in the cookie jar.” Count the 3 seconds aloud: “1β¦ 2β¦ 3.” If the follow-through drops before 3, the rep doesn’t count. Check that elbow tracks above the eyebrow on each rep.
Quarter squat, then extend legs first, then arm, then wrist snap. Say out loud: “Legs. Arm. Snap.” every single rep β it must be audible on camera. The legs provide the power; the arm and wrist provide the aim. This is the first time all three fire together.
Full Part 4 form with eyes closed. Open eyes only after the ball has left your hand. Ask yourself: did it hit the mark? If the direction is consistent with eyes closed, your form is repeatable. Inconsistency means the arm path or wrist is changing between reps β slow down and rebuild. Still say “Legs. Arm. Snap.” aloud.
Full form, eyes open. Count consecutive times you hit the tape mark. Your streak resets each time you miss. Say your count aloud: “1β¦ 2β¦ 3⦔ so it’s audible on camera. Record your highest streak in your Dropbox note β this is your Day 2 shooting baseline. The same drill will be revisited in Week 3.

D02_[DrillName].mp4On a jump stop, both feet land simultaneously β not one then the other. Both feet hitting at the same time means you can choose either foot as your pivot foot. Say this aloud before starting: “Both feet at the same time. Either foot can pivot.”
Take 3 walking steps, then jump off one foot and land on both feet simultaneously. Freeze for 2 seconds. Check: feet shoulder-width, knees bent, hips low, back flat, weight balanced. No ball β focus entirely on the landing. Say “Both feet” before every rep.
Walk 3 steps, jump stop, land and immediately go into triple threat position. Ball at hip, knees bent, head up, elbows out. Hold for 2 full seconds β head scans left then right. Parent watches to confirm the landing is simultaneous, not one foot then the other.
The 1-2 step is the alternative to the jump stop. Walk into the catch: non-dominant foot lands first (1), dominant foot plants second (2). Say “One-two” as each foot lands. 10 reps leading with the left, 10 with the right. Hold triple threat after each rep.
Dribble 4β5 steps, then pick up the ball and execute a clean jump stop. No extra steps after picking up the ball. The moment the ball leaves the floor for the last time, the next landing must be the jump stop. Hesitating after the pick-up is a travel. Say “Pick up β stop” on every rep.
Dribble, pick up, jump stop into triple threat. Then immediately call “SHOOT” or “PASS” β alternate each rep. Execute the call: shadow shoot with BEEF form, or look and execute a shadow pass. No repeat decisions β must alternate. This is your first game-speed footwork rep.

D03_[DrillName].mp4The player is the coach today. Every instruction comes from the player β not the parent. Parents: follow the player’s lead, ask questions, try your best. This day earns points for both the teaching quality and the execution quality.
Player explains triple threat to parent β no ball yet. Cover all 3 options aloud: (1) Shoot. (2) Drive. (3) Pass. Then demonstrate the position: ball at hip, knees bent, weight balanced, head up, elbows out. Parent must repeat the 3 options back before moving on.
Player passes to parent 10 times. Parent catches and goes into triple threat β hold 2 seconds. Player grades each hold: “Good” if all 3 positions are correct, “Fix it” if not. Player must say specifically what’s wrong: “Elbow is in, not out” or “Ball is too high β bring it to your hip.” No vague feedback.
Player receives 10 passes from parent. Each time: catch, triple threat, hold 1 second, then call one of the 3 options aloud β “SHOOT,” “DRIVE,” or “PASS” β and execute it. All 3 options must appear across 10 reps. No using only “Shoot” every rep.
Player catches. Parent immediately calls one of the 3 options right as the player catches the ball. Player must react and execute within 1 second of the catch. Parent randomizes the calls β never two of the same in a row. This simulates game-speed decision pressure.

D04_[DrillName]_FAMILY.mp4Distance earns when form holds. If a breakdown appears at 8 ft β elbow flares, follow-through drops, knees don’t load β step back to 6 ft and rebuild. Never push range at the expense of mechanics. Form is the product, distance is the reward.
10 shadow shots, no ball. Say each BEEF letter aloud as you execute it: “Balanceβ¦ Eyesβ¦ Elbowβ¦ Follow-through.” Hold the follow-through 2 seconds every rep. This reactivates the muscle memory from Day 2 before adding distance stress.
10 shots from 5 ft β same starting distance as Day 2. Parent grades each shot 0β4 using BEEF. Goal: average 3.0 or higher (form improved or maintained from Day 2). Record the average in your Dropbox note alongside your Day 2 score. If the average dropped, spend 2 extra minutes here before Part 3.
Step back to 8 ft. Same BEEF form β no pushing or heaving to reach the rim. Use your legs more, not your arms more. The elbow is the most common breakdown at this range β if it flares, step back to 6 ft for 3 shots, then try 8 ft again. Parent grades continuously.
Move to the right wing (45Β° angle). 8 shots. Then left wing. 8 shots. Hips must fully square to the basket from each angle β do not shoot sideways. The most common error here is the hips staying angled when the feet move. Rotate the entire body to face the basket before shooting.
5 spots: left corner, left wing, top of key, right wing, right corner. 3 shots at each spot = 15 total shots. Record your make count out of 15 in your Dropbox note. This is your Day 5 shooting snapshot β same 5 spots will be used again in Week 3 to measure improvement.

D05_[DrillName].mp4Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Every move in this drill must be clean and controlled at slow speed before you increase pace. If you lose the ball at half-speed, you were already going too fast. Eyes stay up on every single part.
Push the ball toward the inside as if crossing over, then snap it back to the same hand. The fake must look convincing β hips shift, shoulder dips, eyes flick. This is a fake without a transfer. 20 reps right hand, 20 left. Eyes up throughout. Count aloud.
Crossover right-to-left, then left-to-right. Ball must cross below knee height β skim the floor. High crossovers are steals waiting to happen. Slow to fast: 10 slow reps, 10 at half-game speed. Eyes up, head stable. Hips drop as the ball crosses.
Step right foot forward, dribble ball through the legs from right hand to left. Step left foot forward, dribble back right-to-left. The front foot must be forward before the ball passes through β no reaching through with the foot behind. 20 complete cycles.
Swing the ball around the back from the right hand to the left. The motion is a pendulum β low arc, firm push, receives in front of the left hip. Start slow: 5 reps at walking pace. Then 5 at half-speed. Then 5 at three-quarter speed. Do not attempt full game speed until the exchange is clean and quiet.
Choose any 2 moves from Parts 1β5 and connect them in a single sequence. Say your combo aloud before starting: e.g. “Crossover then between the legs” or “Inside-out then hesi.” 10 reps of that same combo. The transition between moves must be smooth β no reset dribbles between. This is your Day 6 showcase skill.

D06_[DrillName].mp4Pivot foot heel may rotate but never lift. The moment the heel comes off the floor, it’s a travel. Say your pivot foot aloud before every single rep β “Right foot” or “Left foot” β so it’s audible on camera.
Right foot is glued to the floor β heel may rotate, never lift. Left foot steps forward and around in a wide arc. Hold 2 seconds in the new position. Say “Right foot” before every rep. Check that heel never peels up mid-pivot.
Switch pivot feet. Left foot is now glued β right foot moves. 10 front pivots + 10 reverse pivots. Say “Left foot” before each rep. Most players favor one foot β this part exposes and fixes the weaker side.
Same pivot sequences as Parts 1β3, now holding the ball. After each pivot, hold ball in triple threat pocket for 1 second β do not shoot. Alternate right and left foot each rep. 10 reps per foot. The ball should stay protected through the entire pivot motion.
Pivot (front or reverse, alternate). Then: pump fake β ball to pocket, eyes up, knees dip. Hold the fake 0.5 sec. The shot fake must be convincing β ball reaches pocket height and knees visibly dip. A weak fake earns no points.
Pivot. Then immediately call “SHOOT” or “PASS” aloud β alternate each rep so both decisions appear. Execute immediately after the call. No repeat decisions (e.g., 5 in a row of “SHOOT”) β alternating is required for full points.

D07_[DrillName].mp4(1) Feet wider than shoulders. (2) Knees bent, thighs near parallel. (3) Hips down, back flat. (4) One hand up, one low. (5) Eyes on chest β not the ball. All 5 must be stated to camera before the first rep.
Drop into defensive stance β all 5 checkpoints active. Hold for 30 seconds without straightening. In your Dropbox note, record how many seconds into each set your form broke. If you hold the full 30 sec clean, write “30 clean.” This is your baseline measurement for the month.
4 steps left, reverse 4 steps right = 1 rep. Lead foot steps, trail foot drags to follow β feet never cross. Stay in defensive stance throughout. Count reps aloud so the set count is audible on camera.
From defensive stance: drop step back at 45Β° with one foot, drive back into stance position. Alternate feet each rep β left drop, right drop. Stay low throughout. The retreat step is used when your opponent is driving past you β it buys a half-step of recovery space.
Sprint 6 full steps toward imaginary shooter. On the last 2 steps, break into short, choppy steps β feet come back under your body, hips drop, one hand goes up. Land balanced. No full-speed run into a stumble β the chop must be visible on camera. A sprinted close-out that doesn’t break down earns no points.
Front camera on your phone as a mirror. Drop into stance. Call your own directions aloud: “Left!” “Right!” “Back!” β randomly, for 2 full minutes. Execute each call immediately as you say it. No pattern β random order keeps your reactions honest. Stay in stance the entire 2 minutes.

D08_[DrillName].mp4“We don’t shoot quickly β we PREPARE to shoot quickly.” Feet should be moving into position while the ball is still in the air on its way to you. Say this to camera before the first rep of every part.
No ball. Step non-shooting foot (1), then plant shooting-side foot (2). Freeze in the catch position. Check: hips square to the basket, knees bent, weight balanced. This is the foundation β get the foot pattern automatic before adding the ball.
Self-toss 3 ft to your side. Walk into the catch using the 1-2 step. Catch as the second foot lands β not before, not after. Freeze. Do not shoot. The goal is timing the feet and the catch simultaneously. Slow is correct here.
1-2 step, catch, shoot immediately. No extra dribble between the catch and the shot β this is the most common error and costs points. Shoot from 5 ft. Say “Ball in air, feet in air” before each rep.
Instead of 1-2 step, use a hop stop β both feet leave the ground and land simultaneously. Same catch position, same shooting setup. Practice both footwork options β both are legal and both appear in game situations. No extra dribble after landing.
Right wing first β 10 reps from the right side. Then left wing β 10 reps from the left side. Hips must square to the basket from both angles. The left side is harder for right-handed shooters. Do not skip or rush the weaker side.
Parent passes (or wall-pass) at medium-fast speed. Execute the full catch-and-shoot at real game pace. Say “Ball in air, feet in air” before each rep. Form breaks at speed = slow down, fix it, rebuild. If you can’t do it slowly, you can’t do it quickly.

Player calls a dribble move aloud β parent mirrors it 2 seconds later. 2 minutes with player leading. Then swap β parent leads, player mirrors. Parent should choose slightly harder moves each turn to push the player. Both dribble continuously β no stopping between moves.
Parent calls dribble commands randomly. Player executes ONLY on “Simon says.” Execute without “Simon says” = lose a life. Player starts with 3 lives β how many remain at the end? Record it in your Dropbox note. Both must dribble continuously throughout, even while listening for commands.
Both dribble in a 10Γ10 ft area. Knock the other person’s ball away without losing control of your own. First to knock away the other’s ball 5 times wins. Player must use their weak (non-dominant) hand for at least 50% of the round β this is a scoreable item the coach will verify on video.
Both player and parent use their non-dominant hand only for 90 seconds. No switching. If either person catches the ball using their dominant (wrong) hand β the other earns +5 bonus family points. Call it out loud the moment it happens so it’s captured on camera.

Walk 3 steps toward imaginary defender. Plant right foot hard. Sprint 4β5 steps left (or right). Repeat. Say “Sell the walk!” before each rep. The walking approach must look convincing β 3 full, deliberate steps before the plant.
Same as Part 1. Add a verbal “Ball!” at the exact moment you change direction β not before, not after. Time the call so it arrives as you plant and push. This is the timing you’ll need in a game.
Parent passes (or self-toss from wall). Cut, call, catch the pass. Land in triple threat β jump stop or 1-2 step. Hold triple threat 2 seconds. Head scans left then right β make the head scan obvious on camera. This is a scoreable item.
Same as Part 3. After catching in triple threat, call “SHOOT” or “DRIVE” based on the imaginary defender’s position. Call it OUT LOUD before moving. Execute immediately β shadow shoot or 1-step drive. No hesitation after the call.
Set up a V-cut. If the imaginary defender overplays (jumping the V-cut direction), reverse the cut β plant, step back toward the basket. Call “Back!” instead of “Ball!” This is the counter to the V-cut. The distinction between the two calls must be audible on camera.

D11_[DrillName].mp4Catch in triple threat. Extend your shooting arm toward the defender. CLOSER than arm’s length = Drive. FARTHER than arm’s length = Shoot. This one rule covers 80% of your shooting decisions. State it aloud to camera before the first rep.
Self-toss to catch in triple threat. Extend arm toward imaginary defender. Call “SHOOT” or “DRIVE” β execute immediately. No hesitation after the call. Alternate the imagined defender distance every rep so both reads appear across 10 reps.
Catch in triple threat. Pump fake β ball to pocket, eyes up, knees dip. “Did the defender bite?” If yes: call “Drive!” and take 1 step. If no: call “Shoot!” and execute. The call must come before the move. The pump fake must be convincing β ball reaches pocket height, knees dip visibly.
Triple threat. Jab non-pivot foot at 45Β° β sharp, hard, convincing. Read: “Did they retreat?” If yes: call “Pull up!” (shot in place). If no: call “Drive other way!” Call the read aloud before executing. The jab must look threatening β a lazy jab earns no reaction from the defense.
Defender is overplaying and denying the ball. Walk toward them (sell the cut). They deny hard β staying between you and the ball. Call “Back!” β back-cut toward the basket. Receive imaginary pass. Catch in triple threat at the new position. The walk toward the defender must look like a real V-cut setup.
Combine all 4 reads randomly. Start each rep in triple threat. Call the read type out loud before executing: “Arm’s length!” or “Shot fake!” or “Jab read!” or “Back-cut!” All 4 read types must appear at least once across the 10 reps β a sequence that uses only 1 or 2 types earns no points for Part 5.

Every shot must have all 4 form points visible on camera:
- Ball at shot pocket β not hip
- Elbow under ball β forms an L shape
- Guide hand on side only β not under
- Follow-through held until ball hits rim
Work through all markers one at a time. 3 consecutive correct-form makes to advance. Record two numbers in your Dropbox note: (1) the farthest marker you reached and (2) the total number of shots taken. Both numbers are required for scoring.
Same ladder rules as Run 1. Parent watches every shot and counts aloud β “1, 2, 3” β the verbal count creates pressure. Miss on rep 3 (right before advancing) = restart that marker’s count from 1. The count must be clearly audible on camera to earn the pressure round points.

Both hold wall sit simultaneously β back flat against wall, thighs parallel to floor, feet flat on the ground. First person to straighten their legs loses the circuit’s bragging rights. Timer must be visible on camera. This one is competitive β play it up.

- Station 1: 2-step lateral shuffle in defensive stance β feet never cross rule still applies. Count trips same way.
- Station 2: In-place jump stop β hop forward and back, land both feet simultaneously in athletic stance each time.
- Station 3: Ball slaps + high knees β identical, no space change needed. Swap roles on Circuit 2.
- Station 4: Pivot pulses in place β 4 pivots per 10 sec. Count completed squares same way.
- Station 5: Chair hover β hover without sitting, thighs parallel to floor, 30 sec. First to sit loses.

D16_[DrillName]_FAMILY.mp4Parent tosses ball, then closes out. Player reads the distance and calls “SHOOT” or “DRIVE” aloud before moving. The call must come before the execution β not after. No hesitation once the call is made.
Parent tosses and stays at the hoop. Player catches in triple threat, recognizes the open look, and shoots immediately β no hesitation, no extra dribbles. Full BEEF form every shot. This rep establishes your baseline before the closeouts begin.

Parent slowly walks toward player after toss. Call “SHOOT” and release before parent reaches arm’s length. The shot must be gone before they arrive. No catching and waiting β the read happens the moment the ball leaves the parent’s hands.
Parent sprints at player after toss. Inside arm’s length = DRIVE. Call “DRIVE” aloud before taking a single step. One dribble, one explosive step toward the basket. Do not shoot on a fast closeout β this is the most common mistake and no points are awarded for a wrong decision.
Parent randomly chooses slow or fast β player does not know in advance. Call “SHOOT” or “DRIVE” before executing. Record your accuracy: how many of 10 did you read correctly? Write the number in your Dropbox note β this is a required scoring item.
Fast closeout. Parent sprints. Player pump fakes β parent bites (jumps). Player drives. Say “Fake!” then “Drive!” aloud in sequence before each move. The pump fake must be convincing enough to make the parent jump β sell it with your eyes and knees dipping, not just the ball moving.
Release before they close the gap. Full BEEF form β no rushing.
One dribble, one explosive step. Do not shoot β that’s a wrong read.
Ball to pocket, knees dip, eyes stay up. Wait for them to land, then drive.

D17_[DrillName].mp4Any NBA, WNBA, or college game. No phones for anything else during film. Player narrates in real time β call out reads, cuts, and decisions as they happen. Parent listens first, then asks one genuine question.
Watch 10 minutes of any NBA, WNBA, or college game. Player narrates throughout. While watching, look for all 3 of these and call them out the moment you see them:
- One player using the arm’s length rule correctly β identify the player and the read
- One closeout read β did the offensive player make the right decision?
- One cut that created an open shot β V-cut, back-cut, or curl?
Player speaks to camera with all 3 film observations. Use ABA terminology throughout β arm’s length, triple threat, V-cut, closeout. Vague answers (“he played good defense”) earn no points. Be specific with player names, the exact read, and the mechanic you saw.
Parent asks one genuine question based on the film observations β listen, follow up if vague. Then player speaks to camera with all 3 debrief points:
- “The drill I felt strongest on this week was ___.”
- “The mechanic I want to improve is ___, specifically ___.”
- “One thing I noticed this week I hadn’t noticed before: ___.”
Parent to camera: “What I noticed watching you this week was ___.” Observations only β not coaching, not corrections. One honest, specific thing you saw. Record both player and parent on the same continuous video clip. Do not stop and restart the camera between steps.

- 5 scenario cards: Parent reads each aloud. Player answers with full ABA reasoning while holding a stretch β multi-task both simultaneously.
- Week Debrief: Player writes 3-point debrief. Parent writes 1 observation. Both read aloud to camera.
- Active Recovery: Same stretch sequence from the reference card. Player leads the timing.

D18_[DrillName]_FAMILY.mp4All 5 phases must connect without stopping. A fumbled catch or missed verbal call = a failed chain β restart from Phase 1. Record total completed chains and your SHOOT vs DRIVE count in your Dropbox note.
Walk 3 steps toward parent (the defender). Plant. V-cut. Call “Ball!” at the exact moment you change direction. Parent passes on the call β the catch must be immediate. No lazy approach steps. The chain begins with a convincing fake.
1-2 step or hop stop. Triple threat. Hold 1 second. Head scans. If you fumble the catch, that’s a failed chain β restart from Phase 1. The catch must be clean and controlled every single rep without exception.
Parent moves after the pass β slow or fast, random. Player applies the arm’s length rule. Call “SHOOT” or “DRIVE” aloud before moving. This is the IQ moment of the entire chain. A call that comes after the move earns no points for the read.
SHOOT = full BEEF shot β no shortcuts. DRIVE = one explosive step, no hesitation after the call. Then: rebound, crossover dribble back to start, reset in triple threat. Parent returns to passer spot. 10 complete sequences total. After sequence 5, switch the closeout type. In your Dropbox note, record: total completed chains, SHOOT count, and DRIVE count.
